Our Story

More Than a Studio

When productions come to the Southwest, they need more than four walls and a backdrop. They need power, space, gear, crew, and the kind of room that makes a national-level shoot run like clockwork. That's why we built Loft 19.

Inspired by the great production houses — the Pier 59s and Milk Studios of the world — Loft 19 was created to give Phoenix a true production destination: a place where photographers, agencies, directors, and brands can walk in, plug in, and create at the highest level. For more than two decades, we've grown alongside the productions we host, expanding from a single room into a 9,200-square-foot complex with three stages, a full rental inventory, and every support space a shoot day demands.

Where It Started

Founded by a Father & Son

Loft 19 Studios was founded in 2003 by Floyd and Brian Bannister — a father and son who spent their first careers in Major League Baseball. Floyd was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1976 draft and a big-league All-Star, leading the American League in strikeouts in 1982; Brian followed him to the majors as a pitcher in his own right.

When their playing days ended, they set out to give the Southwest something it didn't have: a studio with the same luxuries the great production houses offer creatives everywhere else. They started small — one stage, a single cyclorama, and a basic set of Profoto Pro-7 strobes — and built Loft 19 one shoot at a time on professionalism, service, and quality.

More than two decades and three stages later, the family standard behind every booking hasn't changed.
